Emergency action for the Tsunami


"Tsunami Relief Work at Keezhayur"

targaFrom January to march 2005, soon after the Tsunami stroke the South-East Asia coast, ABChildren Charity onlus, started an helping action to the 530 families of th village of Keezhayur, Nagappatinam District, on the coast in the state of Tamil Nadu. By this action ABChildren give first need goods, medical treatments and support for children.

     • 1.400 personal hygieb articles
     • 1.600 cloths for children
     • 1.150 kitchen tools
     • 530 assistance cards
     • 3.000 kilos of rice
     • 1 machine for grint the rice

Help for the work

     • 500 vassels for selling the fish
     • 20 new catamarans
     • 20 boat engines repaired
     • permanent work for 200 families
     • temporary work for 23 people

Medical treament and assistanceistruzione

     • 7 urgent medical operations
     • 1 tricicle and 3 crutches for disable people
     • psycological assistance
     • couseling services for children
     • meeting with the families

Helping actions for children and youth

     • Construction of the bathrooms for the children in the only school of the village
     • distribution of 600 school bags for the children
     • 1 scientific calculator to continue to study
     • animation for the children
     • balls and volleyball net for the youth
     • distribution of toys and sweets
     • support for the education of 50 children
     • admission of the orphans inside our orphanages.
