Support to the restaurant for the poor
"Sacred Hearth Kitchen"

restaurant for the poorSince January 2003, ABChildren Charity onlus started to support the restaurant for the poor "Sacred Hearth Kitchen" in Poovar which is a small fishermen village in Kerala, South India.

In this small village, fishing is the only opportunity to work, it is very difficult for the families to have two meals per day. The sisters "Dorotean of the Sacred Hearth" have opened a restaurant for the poorest families in the area.
"Sacred Heart Kitchen"At the beginning they where offering a meal a day for 38 elderly of the village, but after the Tsunami that affected the South-Asia including India, to fish became very difficult.
Now the "Sacred Hearth Kitchen" is an important center for a lot of people, that today can't afford their daily food.

ABChildren Charity onlus is still working with the "Sacred Hearth Kitchen" to feed both the former 38 elderly and the 48 families that are not able to live with the fishing because fish is now not available on that coastal area.
